more wiring

well, i took the last few days and traced out every wire in the bundle, figured out what i needed and didn't need and cut/labeled so i know where it goes now.

in the meantime i (with franks advice) painted under/behind dash for better lighting when i need to work back there;

then i cut hole in firewall to take 80 jeep fuse block.
its been a bit more of a pain but i think i will be happy-this is functional truck not show truck and modern wiring setup will be nice.

i was worried that the front fender mount wouldn't be strong enough so after discussion with my dad and some head-scratching... i came up with this.
i had welded just the lower part on and not even all the way and wanted to test-front end weighs 150? 200 pounds. more with rad and hood on but i jumped up/down HARD and it held. then i FULLY welded it and added the bracing-should hold now. =)

and yes-the rad is gonna be so close to front of eng i will have to run elec fan in front of rad-NOT my favorite but... and that steel looks thin but the main part is 1/4" channel... tied VERY well to the boxed frame member which will be tied again to the MONSTER front bumper for even more strength

this is the last time the front end will be off (and if i can lift the whole thing by myself-its not that heavy at all) till x? years down the road when i have money/time to paint the outside. inside will be that nice silver hammered but outside will be "patina"

Are you sure you won't be able to fit an electric fan between the engine and radiator? Look into a fan from a 6-cyl. Taurus. They are pretty flat, fit well with a little modification, and are two-speeds. It's a very popular modification on FSJs. Some people even wire them up so the high speed comes on with a relay or manually with a switch.

Forgot to mention - the "fit well" part assumes you are using a Jeep radiator. It may fit other ones, but I don't have any experience there.

possible but not probable to fit fan behind rad.
the aftermarket has plenty of good 16" flat fans-and i have one on the shelf.
using 1950 chevy shape radiator. fits body best and bolt-in.
