1989 4.0 before. (BTW-this valve cover had 14 bolts. my leaky junk had 4... thank goodness for improvements!

after 20 minutes and an impact wrench. only thing stopping me now is headbolts being torqued on severely!

I'm not sure I see what's missing, unless you mean the big hole in the top of the #2 piston. . .The head of course is gone, but I'm assuming you took that off already.
